A Kiss of Love
On her First Communion(May 8, 1884. 11 yrs)
Oh, how sew the first kiss of Jesus was.
It was a kiss of love. I knew that I was loved and declared:
“I love You and I give you myself to You forever.”
Jesus made no demand to me; He asked for no sacrifices.
For a long time Jesus and little Therese had known and understood one another.
That day our meeting was more than simple recognising each other.
It was perfect union.
We were no longer two.
Therese had disappeared like a drop of water lost in the immensity of the ocean; Jesus alone remained.
